Staying in Allambie Heights places you next to the practically untouched Manly Dam Reserve, where you can see Indigenous Australian rock carvings, migratory birds and unique flora. If you want to see native rainforest, waterfalls and creeks, head to Allambie Park in the north.
Avid golfers have two excellent courses on offer near Allambie Heights, including the well-maintained Warringah Golf Club, which also runs twilight golf and has a comfortable clubhouse with a bar. Wakehurst Golf Club sits beside Manly Reservoir and offers a challenging par-72 course with sand traps, pristine greens and Manly Dam vistas.
Visiting with the kids? Take them to Wannabees Family Play Town, which features themed rooms where children can pretend to be doctors, chefs, firefighters, models and other characters. The Warringah Aquatic Centre is located nearby and provides a place to swim, including a diving pool with three-metre-high springboard.
