Part of Australia’s Coral Coast, Exmouth is a short drive from half a dozen unspoilt beaches perfect for sunbathing or swimming. Visit Jurabi Turtle Centre to learn about turtles and their habitat or take a guided tour to view hatchlings during nesting season.

Spend some time at Cape Range National Park, where 50,000 hectares of spectacular mountains and canyons are home to kangaroos, emus and rock wallabies. The tranquil gorge of Yardie Peak is a highlight of the park, and its multicoloured cliff walls are best seen from a guided boat tour. If you’re a keen birdwatcher, the Mangrove Bay Bird Hide is a great place to see mangrove fantails, kites and ospreys.
